It was foretold that today I’d write this article, I saw it. I see a narrow path.., come on, I deserve to make a few Dune jokes, I just got back after watching Part 2. Seriously though, I decided to make this article because the 2nd season of this anime recently got a few updates. I am surprised that I haven’t talked about I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years before this. But here we are.

If you want to watch a good simple and wholesome isekai about a quirky family, this is your anime. So I Paul Atreides, Duke of Arrakis welcome you to another edition of our anime recommendation series. This week we will be talking about I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years. Again, excuse the Dune jokes, I am still excited because of Part 2. Anyway, let’s get started.

Introduction

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years is based on the LN of the same name by Kisetsu Morita and illustrated by Benio. The first season of the anime came out in the spring 2021 season, it was 12 episodes long and was made by Revroot Studio. The 2nd season has been confirmed for next year and it has a different studio and staff working on it. Kind of odd that they announced a 2025 release window this early. But hey, at least we know it is coming.

Plot

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 400 Years follows an immortal witch, Azusa. Who as you may have guessed, spent the last 300 years killing slimes. Not because of a hatred of them or something, but simply because she is afraid of fighting tougher monsters. But since had been doing that for so long, she maxed out her level and now is super strong. And this newfound strength keeps bringing unexpected visitors to her even though she just wants to live a quiet and peaceful life.

As might imagine, Azusa is someone who got isekai’d. In her previous life, she was an office worker who died from overwork. And I love how that mentality affects her choices to this day, some 300 years later. This is a perfect anime to just set aside your brain and enjoy watching.

Characters

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 500 Years also has some interesting characters. Characters and character dynamics are the major strengths of this anime since the plot is pretty straightforward. Azusa makes a great lead character, she’s charming and relatable, her having this sort of maternal bond with the twins and Laika is really adorable as well. Their interactions are what make this anime so much fun to watch and are the main source of the comedy for the series as well.

Animations and Soundtracks

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 600 Years has nothing special when it comes to the production side of things. The animations and soundtracks are all fairly average. The art style is cute though, I will give them that. This cute art style fits the chill and laid-back vibe of the series perfectly.

Summing Up

Here’s why you should watch I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years:

  • Cute and Wholesome
  • Entertaining and funny
  • Sweet characters
  • Cute art style

That is all for now. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. As I said, I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years is a great anime to watch if you just want to put your brain aside, laugh a bit, and relax. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
