Grand Blue Season 2 Confirmed!

It is no secret that Grand Blue is one of my favorite comedy animes of all time. I watched it for the first time when it came out back in 2018 and I was quite young then. I still liked it back then but I really do appreciate it more now that I am a college graduate. And I have been begging for a season 2 for all these years. And well, as if Fall 2024 couldn’t get any better, we start the season with announcements of Frieren Season 2 and Grand Blue Season 2! Yeah, after 6 whole years, we are finally here.

I know that I am a little late to jump on this news but I’ve just been a bit busy with all the Fall 2024 stuff. But hey, we are here. Welcome to another news article and today we are talking about Grand Blue Season 2. It is real, all those rumors from a few months ago turned out to be true. It is finally official, let’s talk about it.

What do we know about Grand Blue Season 2?

There was a special radio live-stream related to Grand Blue last Sunday (29/09) and the sequel was announced over that broadcast. The production company, NBC Universal Entertainment Japan also updated the official website of the anime, confirming Season 2 and announcing the main staff and cast of the anime. All of the main staff and cast members are making a return from Season 1. So the anime will be still directed by Shinji Takamatsu at Zero-G studio.

And of course, that means that our familiar main cast will also be returning. So Uchida Yuuma, Anzai Chika, Kimura Ryohei, Asumi Kana, Uchida Maaya, etc. will all be making a return. Which is great, because Grand Blue’s cast is perfect. Sadly, all we have for now is a teaser visual. We didn’t get an announcement teaser or a release window or something. But we should get all of that soon enough. I am just glad that they acknowledged that Season 2 is real and it is coming out… hopefully soon.

My Thoughts

Boy oh boy where to even start? I really cannot describe how happy this announcement makes me. Fall 2024 did not need any additional help to be the best anime season for like the next five years, we’re also starting the season with banger announcements like these. Sequel announcements for two shows I love to kick off the season. What more could I ask for? I cannot wait to jump right back into the chaos and absurdity of Grand Blue. More drunk parties, yeah, it’s gonna be wild.
