Frieren Season 2 Episode 2 was Damn Perfect

Article at a glance:

  • Frieren Season 2 doesn’t waste time pulling you back in with quiet, thoughtful moments that remind you why this world feels so alive.
  • Episode 2 really does prove that the strength of this series has never been about action alone, but about the people, the journeys, and the weight carried between scenes.

I know that we were all a little disappointed that Frieren Season 2 would only be 10 episodes total, but, god damn, if the remaining 8 episodes are like these? I think it will be more than worth it. Frieren Season 2 did start off strong. Episode 1 was decent as is, but Episode 2, though? Man, Episode 2 really hit home. The first half of the episode really made me realize why I love this show all over again. It is not the action or the hype moments, it’s small moments like that that make the world and by extension, the plot itself more interesting.

I know Frieren Season 2 Episode 2 just dropped a few hours ago at the time of writing, so here is your spoiler warning. Only proceed after you’ve seen the episode. But yeah, welcome back to another first impressions article, and today we are talking about Frieren Season 2! So let’s get started.

Why did I Like Frieren Season 2 Episode 2 so much?

The story of the Hero of the South was just so well done. First of all, as always, the story does such a good job of showcasing that it wasn’t destiny that made Himmel special and that there were other heroes aside from him. As we are shown, the Hero of the South was stronger. I really like how his character was handled for such a brief appearance. I love how he accepted his death and wanted to make it count, opening a path for Himmel and his party, years down the line.

This approach of broadening the scope of the world to show just how many people supported the main team on their long journey is something I really like about Frieren. It was a small segment, relatively speaking. Just a little over half of the episode. But even this small segment served as a great reminder of why I will always love this show. The 2nd half of Episode 2 was also pretty good. It once again shows us why Frieren will never trust a Demon.

The production is great, as expected. We kind of got the famous Frieren upper angle meme in Episode 2 as well, which made me crack up lol. Also, Episode 1 had certain shots that I am sure were purely there for scientific purposes. Oh yeah, speaking of Episode 1, the episode was pretty cute, showing that despite their fighting, Fern and Stark really do care about each other lol.

That is all for now

But yeah, Frieren Season 2 is off to a great start. I didn’t make an article on it last week because I just didn’t have much to say about Episode 1. But let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
