In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, Put this on your Radar!

Article at a glance:

  • Another wholesome romance anime is on the horizon—In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is getting its adaptation soon.
  • The series stands out with its unique dynamic: a “prince” tomboy heroine and the school’s other “prince” crossing paths.
  • With strong character writing and natural pacing, this manga has already won hearts—and the anime could make it even bigger.

I had been looking for romance manga/anime to fill out the void left by certain recently finished series. And one of those mangas I found was Fragrant Flower. Goes without saying, everyone has been enjoying the anime adaptation of Fragrant Flower. And well, we will have another cute and wholesome romance anime to talk about pretty soon. I am, of course, talking about In the Clear Moonlit Dusk! This manga has the cute and wholesome romance vibes we all love, and the relationship dynamic is a bit more unique here.

And of course, just as I found this manga, I discovered that it has an anime adaptation coming out pretty soon as well. So welcome to another article, and today, we are talking about In the Clear Moonlit Dusk! Let’s get started!

All you need to know about In the Clear Moonlit Dusk!

The manga is written and illustrated by Yamamori Mika. It has been serialized in the Dessert magazine since 21st July 2020, and is still ongoing. As for the anime adaptation, it was announced a while ago, in May. Back then, I didn’t know about this manga, so I didn’t cover it. But the anime is set to premiere sometime in January 2026. The anime will be directed by Maruyama Yuusuke at East Fish Studio. Suzuki Ryouta and Ichinomiya Rei will be starring as the main duo in the anime.

As far as the plot goes, it is slightly different from a typical romance setting. Takaguchi Yoi is admired as the “prince” of her school because of her boyish charm and her casual demeanor. All students of the school basically fawn over her, no matter what she does. She mostly ignores it, but it all changes when Kohaku Ichimura, the school’s other “prince,” barges into her life. He openly calls her beautiful and appreciates her feminine side. You can probably imagine how the rest goes since this is a romance manga and all.

But yeah, that’s all you need to know about the series, so let’s move on to

My Thoughts

What I like most about this series has to be how different the relationship dynamic is compared to a typical romance manga. It is pretty rare for a main love interest in a romance manga to be a tomboy, and I do think we need a bit more of this niche. I say that not because I am into tomboys, but because it opens up some interesting interactions with the male lead. And this manga takes full advantage of the said unique dynamic, which is really cool.

Aside from that, like every good romance, the character writing is really good, and it feels natural. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a confession yet, but the pacing still feels good overall. So yeah, I look forward to the anime adaptation. Crazy to think that 2026 is just 4 months away… but here we are.

That is all for now

So let me know what you guys think in the comments. I really look forward to the In the Moonlit Dusk anime; it will be a good time. May we continue to be blessed by more such good romance mangas/animes. With that said, I will take my leave here. I am off to play some more Elden Ring Reforged! See ya!
