Ragna Crimson, Put This on Your Radar

Key takeaways from Ragna Crimson news:
- Ragna Crimson is an upcoming anime based on the manga by Kobayashi Daiki, set in a world where humans battle dragons. Produced by Silver Link and directed by Takahashi Ken, it has a fall 2023 release.
- The story follows Ragna teaming up with Crimson to fight dragons and grow stronger. The main cast includes Murase Ayumu, Kobayashi Chiaki, and Minase Inori.
- Though the plot may seem generic, the author is excited about Ragna Crimson’s potential as an amazing fantasy series. Silver Link’s art style and previous success with The Misfit at the Demon King Academy suggest they can bring the edgy atmosphere to life.
You know, I have a thing for edgy-sounding fantasy stories in general. One of the reasons I picked up Dark Souls back in the day was because it sounded really edgy on paper. Well, that ended up being a whole different rabbit hole but I did get what I wanted out of the game and so much more.
So Ragna Crimson, it is another one of these really edgy-sounding stories and that is what drew me into it. The art style this series is going for also compliments that edgy feel real well, so I am very interested in it.
So, welcome back to another edition of Put This on Your Radar – the series where I discuss some of the upcoming anime that caught my eye. And today, let’s talk about Ragna Crimson.
What do we know about Ragna Crimson?
The anime will be based on the manga of the same name by Kobayashi Daiki, which has been serialized in Gangan Joker since March 2017. The anime will be made by good old Silver Link. It will be directed by Takahashi Ken, someone who has worked on aΒ lotΒ of popular anime like Demon Salyer, JoJo, Darker than Black, etc. Yes, those were not directorial roles but he still has a lot of experience.
The story is about a world full of dragons and humans doing their best to fight and survive against the dragons. The titular MC, Ragna joins forces with the mysterious Crimson to become stronger. The main cast will feature Murase Ayumu as Crimson, Kobayashi Chiaki as Ragna, and Minase Inori as Leonica. The anime is set to come out in the fall season of 2023 or sometimes in this year’s September.

What do I think?
Honestly, Ragna CrimsonΒ looksΒ really cool. The plot is very cookie cutter but if executed properly this could be an amazing fantasy series. Silver Link has also made another similar series. The Misfit at the Demon King Academy also is rather generic. But it works because of how well the plot is executed and how good the art style looks. I hope Siler Link can work the same magic on this anime.
So yeah, fair to say, I am pretty excited about this anime. It could really be something worth watching if done properly. Silver Link, I trust you, you guys have made some of the most fun to watch anime, generic or not. Work your magic on this one too.
Conclusion
That is all for now. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I think Ragna Crimson could be pretty cool with that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
