It’s funny how I wasn’t very impressed by Wistonia last week, but this week, episode 2 just blew my mind away. And this was a great week overall. You will know what I mean if you play Genshin or are an Eminem fan. Yes, Eminem dropped one of the best albums of his whole career this week. So this was a pretty good week for me. And that applies to anime too. The summer 2024 season is in full swing now. And I am pretty sure that all important anime are out now.

Roze of the Recapture keeps delivering with its plot twists, Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings also had an unexpected plot twist this week, and of course, there were Wistonia and Tower of God. I am already reconsidering my thoughts on Wistonia at this rate and I hope that it continues proving me wrong like this.

So let’s talk about it. Welcome back to another best episode of the week article. This is the 2nd week of the Summer 2024 season, let’s talk about everything from Wistonia Episode 2 to Tower of God Season 2 Episode 2. Here are my favorite episodes of the week!

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 2

So Bam has gotten himself involved with all kinds of things, huh? You know what though? After watching this episode and getting a general idea of what he wants to accomplish, I find his desire to climb the tower alone admirable. Now, one thing I don’t understand is why he is using a pseudonym. I don’t think many people know his name at this point. Still, this was a pretty cool episode. It continued exploring the new characters this season has introduced, it told us a little about Bam and it included a brief but meaningful flashback.

Next week’s episode should be another banger. I hope that we get a proper fight next week but even if we don’t, next week’s episode is going to be amazing.

Roze of the Recapture Episode 4

Well, well, well, it is the return of the king and he is looking cool as hell as always. And he was with C.C. on top of that which is just the icing on the cake. The first character you see as the episode opens is C.C. and seeing her brought a smile to my face. Later in the episode we also get to see Cornelia and Nina again. Aside from the nostalgia trips, this episode has a lot of plot progression. Sakuya’s best way of getting information from the Einberns is now gone and rescuing Sakura seems like an even taller task than before.

I knew that the Damocles would become an important plot point again soon but I was not quite expecting it to see it this early. Let’s how this anime handles the FLEJA missiles and Damocles, both of them were a huge threat in the original Code Geass.

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 2

Ok, I always struggle with explaining why I enjoyed a particular episode of an anime like this, I mean, what do you want me to say? It was fun seeing the deer angles that came down to pick up Nokotan when she “died” or do you want me to say that the JoJo reference was hilarious? No, none of those two random incidents come even close to explaining just how out of pocket this episode was. We got a yandere, sis-con little sister on one side and Nokotan, a damn deer on the other side fighting over Torako before GTA 6, damn it.

I don’t know what else you expect me to say. Things just happen in Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan and you’re just supposed to accept them without a question.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian Episode 2

Ok, the plot twist in this episode was massive. This was an amazing episode. It was chaotic as hell and Kuze’s sister is a demon. I won’t reveal who she is, watch the episode to find out. It was too good of a plot twist to be spoiled here. But she spent the whole episode making things difficult for Alya. It was good. And then you add all those amazing reactions Alya had to Kuze’s genuine compliments and reactions were hilarious. The 0.0 faces don’t even suit her but she still looked adorable. Kuze was literally down on his knees from embarrassment after complimenting her.

Amazing episode overall, I need more stuff like this from this anime. This could be such a good rom-com if they continue delivering stuff like this, might even force its way onto my top 10 anime of the year list for 2024. Also, the ending theme for the anime is Kawaikute Gomen, which is a massive W.

Wistonia Episode 2

So before I even get to the meat and bones of this episode, it was clear from the get-go that they’re just showing off the animations in this episode. Seriously, the animations in this episode were insane before the action even started. Something as simple as Will and Collete walking through the corridor looked great because of how awesome the light and shadow effects were as they walked. This is further accentuated when the fight between Edward and Will starts. The purple shade they used for Edawrd’s magic looks amazing and Will’s movement was smooth.

Wistonia Episode 2 was just the anime showing off what it is capable of and I enjoyed it a lot. It was visually stunning, the story for the episode was also good and, this episode also gave us the backstory for Will, which was done pretty well in my opinion.

That is all for now!

Again, another awesome week in the books. I am listening to Em’s album all the way through for the 10th time so that alone should tell you how much fun this week was for me. I hope you had a good week too and I hope that the upcoming week is also good for you. Let me know what you guys think in the comments and I will take my leave here. See ya!
