Article at a glance:

  • After a 4-month hiatus, Berserk will return in the Young Animal magazine on February 14, 2025, under Studio Gaga and Kouji Mori, continuing Miura’s vision.
  • Studio Gaga and Mori have been praised for staying true to Miura’s iconic art style and story, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Fans appreciate the continuation, feeling Miura’s presence in the work while celebrating his legacy.

Many people might not know this, but Berserk manga has been going well since the unfortunate demise of our beloved Kentaro Miura in May 2021. His team of assistants, Studio Gaga, and his close friend, Kouji Mori, took over the production of the manga, which resumed serialization in June 2022. Recently, the 42nd volume became the first volume of Berserk in which Studio Gaga and Kouji Mori made everything. Volume 41 contained the final chapters Miura wrote before his passing.

So welcome back to another article, and today we are talking about the Berserk manga. I’ll go over the news first, and then I’ll go over how I think the manga has been doing ever since Miura left us. So let’s get into it.

Berserk Manga Resumes Serialization

The manga had been on a hiatus for about 4 months now. The last chapter came out on 8th November 2024. The Young Animal magazine announced yesterday that Bersekf will be back in the next issue of the magazine. The next issue of the Young Animal magazine comes out on 14th February. In case you weren’t aware, about a year after Miura’s passing, his team of assistants, Studio Gaga, and his childhood friend, Kouji Mori, took up Berserk and have been continuing it based on all the story details Miura told them about.

How Has the manga been doing?

To be honest, the manga has been doing great. Yes, of course, all of us, Miura and his absence can be felt, but I really do appreciate how strictly Studio Gaga and Mori have been adhering to his style. The plot is still consistent, and even the art style looks like the good old recognizable art of Berserk. We all know what Berserk looks like; the art style is simply iconic. Studio Gaga and Mori have been very strict about sticking with Miura’s vision of the story, and it shows. Yes, you can feel his absence, but you can also see all the hard work that went into the manga.

And we Berserk fans have also been pretty happy with the product, in general. I am sure that even Miura must be happy seeing his friends and assistants take after him and continue his legacy. We will never get another manga like Berserk, and I am glad that it continues living on, along with Kentaro Miura’s name. We will never forget him or his work, ever.

That is all for now

So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. And honestly, go read the Berserk manga, man. If you haven’t done it already, you are doing yourself a great disservice. I am so glad that Miura’s legacy gets to live on. With that said, I will take my leave here. I am off to play more Persona 5! See ya!
