KonoSuba Season 4 Announced!

This announcement has been long overdue. After the absolute madness and chaos of Season 3, I was left starving for more KonoSuba content and thankfully, Season 4 was recently confirmed. Well, I shouldn’t exactly say that. You see, they just said that a “sequel” is under production. So that sequel could be a movie or a full-on season. We don’t know what this sequel will end up being just yet. So then why did I use “Season 4” in the title? Simple, because it keeps things easy to understand without making the title too long.

So welcome back to another news article. Today we are talking about KonoSuba Season 4 or whatever the sequel ends up being. As you can tell by the lack of information, there won’t be much news to cover here so let’s get over with it quickly.

What do we know about the KonoSuba Sequel?

Well, recently, Season 3 got a two-episode OVA called KonoSuba 3 Bonus Stage. The OVA basically consisted of two unaired episodes and it had a two-week-long theatrical release in Japan. The regular release of the OVA comes on 25th April along with the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Season 3. Why do I bring this OVA up? Well, the screenings of the OVA episodes ended with the announcement that a sequel is currently under production. Of course, as I said, the format of this sequel was not announced. We just know that the work on a sequel is already underway.

That’s about it for now. The official Twitter account has also posted the confirmation regarding the sequel since then. But that covers all the news for now. Let’s move on to

My Thoughts

Well, I just wanted an excuse to talk about KonoSuba again, it has been a while hahaha. But yeah, it does feel good finally seeing a sequel announcement after all this time since Season 3’s release. I am excited about the OVAs as well since they are specifically said to be unaired episodes. Because Season 3 was awesome, straight-up peak KonoSuba if you ask me and I’d love to see more of it. Season 3 really does set some high expectations for whatever the plan for the sequel is.

It would be interesting if the sequel happens to be another movie. As I understand, the first KonoSuba movie was a pretty big success and I don’t see why won’t they want to recapture that hype again. I really don’t like when animation studios use vague terminology like this on purpose. Surely they have already decided on their plans for the sequel if they are announcing this, right? So why use such ambiguous language? But there’s nothing we can do about it except wait and see.

Of course, I am still very excited about this sequel. KonoSuba has been amazing and it has only gotten better over time. So even though the sequel has some big shoes to fill, I am sure it will be a ton of fun to watch. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
