Wind Breaker Season 2 Episode 1 Was Great!

Article at a glance:

• Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, diving straight into intense action with the KEEL confrontation.
• The episode features an impactful OST and well-choreographed fights, despite minor animation hiccups.
• Moments with Kaji and Nire hint at deeper arcs and set the stage for future episodes.

Wind Breaker Season 2 was one of the animes I was looking forward to the most this season. And in many ways. I feel like I kind of forgot just how good Wind Breaker was but, Season 2 Episode 1 wasted no time in reminding me of why I liked Season 1 so much. This episode was near-perfect, I can’t even ask for a better start to what is likely to be another great season.

So yeah, welcome to another first impressions article, the first one for the Spring 2025 season. Today we are talking about Wind Breaker Season 2 Episode 1. Of course, there will be spoilers ahead. So if you haven’t watched the episode, please come back after watching it. With that said, let’s get started.

What did I think of Wind Breaker Season 2 Episode 1?

The episode picks up right where Season 1 left off. Sakura and his whole class in tow are tracking down KEEL’s hideout to rescue Anzai’s friend, Nagato. We saw the KEEL guys beat him to a pulp before and we know that they use things like 2x4s and baseball bats without hesitation so I think we all knew Sakura and his class were in for a tough fight before they even reached KEEL. And yeah, that’s where the action starts, a huge fight between Sakura’s class and KEEL to save Nagato.

First things first, I loved the OST they blasted throughout this episode. Season 1 had a great soundtrack too but the OST for this episode just hit different. It complimented the brutal action on the screen perfectly. And of course, since this is Wind Breaker, the action is amazingly choreographed as well. Now, one complaint I have here is that the animation looked a little wonky in certain shots, I hope that doesn’t continue. But it is just a nitpick for now because other than those few shots, the episode overall looked awesome.

Aside from the action, we had some great character moments too. I like how when others from Furin arrived to back up Sakura’s class, Kaji took Sakura aside for a moment and reminded him of his duty as a class rep and what’s truly important. And Nire had a pretty good character moment too in this episode which served as a setup for what will likely be his character arc for the next few episodes. So it will be interesting to see how all these things play out in the upcoming episodes.

That is all for now

But yeah, overall, Wind Breaker Season 2 Episode 1 was a solid start to Season 2. I am really looking forward to watching the upcoming episode because of the sheer number of things Episode 1 set up. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
