Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 Release Date FINALLY Revealed

Article at a glance:
- Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 finally has a release date after almost a year-long wait since Episode 1.
- The anime officially returns on 3rd January 2026, with weekly episodes following right after.
- New trailer, teaser visual, and opening theme “Provant” by Hiroyuki Sawano, Jean-Ken Johny, and TAKUMA revealed.

I want you all to remember that Episode 1 of Fate/Strange Fake debuted almost a year ago, in November 2024. The prologue, Whispers of the Dawn, came out even before that. And only now, almost a whole year later, do we have a locked-in release date for Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2. I really wish that they didn’t screen episode 1 that early, it really messes with the excitement and pacing.
So yeah, believe it or not, the release date for Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 has been locked in. And it looks like we will get the whole Season as usual, following the release of Episode 2 this time around. So welcome to another news article, you know what we are talking about. So let’s just get right in.

All the Fate/Strange Fake News
Okay, to be fair, we got a lot more than just a release date. But let’s first start with the release date. The anime is still a few months away, but Episode 2 will air on 3rd January 2026. As I said, the rest of the episode will be released in the standard weekly format after that. We got a new teaser visual as well as a new trailer. Hiroyuki Sawano, Jean-Ken Johny, and TAKUMA are performing the opening theme, “Provant.” It’s a Sawano Production, so it is bound to be a banger.
The new trailer does preview the new opening theme, and you can check it out here. But yeah, I think that covers all the important news for now. Of course, all the previously announced cast and staff members will be back for the remaining episodes as well, goes without saying.
But yeah, let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Man, it is pretty wild getting a release date for Episode 2 almost a year after the release of Episode 1. Like normally, in the lifecycle of an anime, by this time, we’d be looking forward to a Season 2, not Episode 2 LOL. But yeah, I would rather have A1 Pictures take their time with it instead of getting a half-baked release. I just wish that they didn’t showcase Episode 1 so early, even if it was a special event. Because most people literally forgot that Strange Fake Episode 1 was out, and we’ve been due for Episode 2 for a while now.
This announcement obviously brought back people, but I really do think it would have served the show better to NOT air Episode 1 SOO early before the actual release. Still, I am really excited about Fate/Strange Fake. I know it is going to be great.
That is all for now
Fate/Strange Fake is bound to be a banger, and jokes aside, I am happy to have a locked-in release date for Episode 2. Let me know what you guys thought in the comments. I will take my leave here. I really need some sleep, see ya!
