What the Hell is Going on Wistoria Season 2??

Article at a glance:
- Just when you thought the show might breathe after the heavy emotional beats of Episode 1, Episode 2 hits with the intensity of a season finale, completely catching the audience off guard.
- With the Magia Vander exhausted and sidelined, the scale of destruction is massive, proving that the series is ready to take some dark, gritty risks this season.
- After his academic dreams are crushed by Edward, Will is thrown into a literal life-or-death struggle that raises the stakes higher than anything we saw in Season 1.

I genuinely have to praise the pacing of this show. The moment you think it is going to take things a little slow after dropping a bombshell on Will in Episode 1, the show completely catches you off guard and then gives you a damn finale-level episode in just Episode 2. I have no idea where Wistoria Season 2 is going to go from here, and I am VERY tempted to pick up the manga again, just to read the continuation of this lol. But I will try my best not to do that and enjoy the anime on its own.
Either way, welcome back to another first impressions article. And today, we are talking about Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 2. There will be spoilers ahead, because a LOT of stuff happened in Episode 2, and I can’t really talk about Episode 2 without spoiling certain things. So please continue if you’ve watched the episode. With that said, let’s get into it.
What do I think of Wistoria Season 2 so far?

Episode 1 starts off pretty heavy, as is, with Will doing everything in his power to score perfectly in every single subject so that he may ascend to the tower. Since he has nothing in his magic exams, he cannot mess up even a single subject if he wants to ascend to the tower. But, well, then Edward comes by and gives everyone a question that Will cannot possibly know how to answer. So we get to see Will completely break down towards the end of Episode 1 because to him, it was his life’s work ruined.
We barely get to move on from that heavy moment before all hell breaks loose. The Magia Vander comes out to reinforce the barrier in the sky. As soon as they’re done, the guys we saw last season show up, opening a bunch of gates, bringing in monsters from deep in the dungeon to the surface. And of course, no Magia Vander to protect the people because they’re all exhausted from reinforcing the seal. I really have to give props to the show for selling the sheer amount of destruction this incident causes so well.

They do not shy away from showing the sheer amount of bloodshed, and even some side characters we know end up dying. Most importantly, at the end of Episode 2, Rosti dies protecting Will as well. Which is CRAZY. I did NOT expect the death of a main character 2 episodes into Season 2. I am really into whatever the anime is cooking right now. Mind you, ALL THIS happened in JUST 2 episodes. And of course, the animations look AMAZING as always. Will getting beaten blood in glorious animations never gets old 😭😭
That is all for now
But yeah, Wistoria Season 2 is off to a phenomenal start. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I really look forward to seeing how this season unfolds. With that said, I will take my leave here. I need some sleep. See ya!
