KanojomoKanojo – Anime Recommendation of the Week

So this week’s anime recommendation may not be for everyone.But, I had a lot of fun rewatching this anime recently; so why not? It is one of those instances where I would not have watched this anime for a very long time till I heard about it. But, I watched it while it was airing thanks to Muse Asia and I loved every moment of it.

You have read the title; you know we are talking about KanojomoKanojo this week. And yes, I refuse to call it Girlfriend Girlfriend because that sounds wrong somehow. Well, it is a very fun anime and I am sure a lot of people will enjoy it so let’s get into the details.

KanojomoKanojo is an anime adaptation of manga of the same name. The manga is still ongoing and it is written and illustrated by Hiroyuki. It is somewhat a typical harem comedy but, it is so much more than that. The anime is just 12 episodes long and it aired from 3^rd July to 18^th September 2021. I really had fun watching this anime. Again huge shout out to Muse Asia, without them, I wouldn’t have watched KanojomoKanojo till now. It is a really fun anime and I really recommend people to check it out. People say it is portraying NTR in a good light but man, seriously common it is an anime made for comedy. Just enjoy it. No need to take it so seriously.

Plot

KanojomoKanojo has your typical high school harem setting. The protagonist gets confessed to by a girl despite already being in a relationship. He isn’t able to resist and takes this girl to his existing girlfriend and convinces her to make it a 3-way relationship. Yes, that is how the anime starts. The whole anime revolves around Saki, Nagisa, and Naoya protecting their trying to protect their 3-way relationship. And man, it is hilarious as hell. But, the characters are where KanojomoKanojo shines.

Characters

Being a harem anime, you can already expect some typical girl stereotypes.KanojomoKanojo also has these stereotypes but, it shakes them up a little to make them feel more natural. Like how the tsundere stops being tsundere and accepts her feelings after a time and all. But, Naoya has got to be the most honest protagonist I have ever seen. He is open about everything, he even is not afraid to admit that he is in a 3-way relationship. Hell, he even is not afraid to admit his fetishes to his girlfriends. I love this guy, how the hell can you be so open with stuff??

Animations and Soundtracks

KanojomoKanojo has bright and colorful animations that perfectly go with its light-hearted atmosphere. Yes, the animation quality is fairly average but, that is fine for an anime like this. As for the soundtracks, nothing too noticeable but the opening and ending themes are very upbeat and catchy. Really good songs to vibe out to.

Why you should watch KanojomoKanojo?

Really funny
Really nice protagonist
Simple plot
Plain enjoyment
Really catchy opening and ending themes
