Bleach TYBW 2 Had Some Hiccups but is Amazing Overall!

Key takeaways from Bleach TYBW 2 review:

  • Bleach TYBW Part 2 delivers an exciting plot with well-paced storytelling and fills in gaps from the manga, enhancing the overall experience.
  • Character development shines in the anime adaptation, with notable improvements for characters like Ichigo, Ishida, and Haschwalth.
  • The animation quality is generally excellent, although occasional inconsistencies are present, while the soundtracks continue to impress, making Bleach TYBW 2 a highly enjoyable watch overall, earning a 9.5/10 rating.

The 10th episode of Bleach TYBW 2 just dropped and it was pretty fun. More than that though, the post-credits scene is what hyped me the most. I know what is coming in the last 3 episodes and I am really excited about it I doubt that my opinions on this season will change regardless of the last 3 episodes.

So what are these “hiccups” I mentioned? Well, they’re pretty minor issues either from the cut content, animations, or some pacing issue. And I am talking about issues exclusive to the anime because the flaws of the TYBW arc in the manga have been talked to death by this point.

Don’t worry, this review won’t be a downer because I really enjoyed the season. So welcome back to another spoiler-free review! Today I am talking about Bleach TYBW Part 2!!

Plot

Unlike the first part of the arc, there are no big lore drops in this part. Well, not yet at least because I am pretty sure there will be something in the upcoming episodes. They have given us bits and pieces of Yhwach’s backstory and I am sure the full version will be in one of the upcoming episodes. Even though the plot didn’t have anything too crazy till now, the plot was really good.

The anime did an incredible job of filling up holes in the manga’s plot wherever possible. They even gave us a whole new training sequence for Ichigo with Ichibei. In general, we’ve been more exposed to the Soul King as a whole in the anime compared to where we were at this point in the manga. Now I know a few people have complaints about the fast pacing of the anime, I don’t have an issue with it, in fact, I quite like the fast pacing. The anime does a good job of making you feel that this is a high-stakes war, especially in the recent few episodes.

Characters

Some characters did get the shaft because of the cuts made in the anime but in general, all the important Sternritters were given the time they needed. The Bambies are probably the best example of this. Their characters shine a lot more in the anime compared to the manga. Ichigo has some nice character development too. He feels so much more mature now, especially after learning the truth about his mother. I like how everyone has grown to trust him now and they have a smile on their faces when he arrives.

Ishida once again got a lot more exposure in the anime and his joining the Quincies actually feels heavy now. The scene between him and Ichigo was done really well. Haswalch is another character who has really benefitted from the anime. Characters like Nanana have suffered because of the cuts but I’d say the new scenes make up for so the cuts overall are a net positive. I’d rather have more Haswalch/Ishida scenes than Nanana any day.

Animations and Soundtracks

Overall, the animations are incredible. There are some inconsistencies here and there, one episode had a noticeable drop in art quality. But overall, the animations are really good and I like what they did with the battlefield The red color really adds to the fights, I feel. As for the soundtracks, Bleach has always had amazing soundtracks and Bleach TYBW 2 is no different. Both the new and remixed tracks are really awesome as always. Special shoutout to the ending theme though.

Here are my final scores!

  • Plot – 9/10 (I am counting future content for this season as well)
  • Characters – 10/10
  • Animations – 9/10
  • Soundtracks – 10/10
  • Enjoyment – 10/10
  • GETSUGA JUJISHOU – 10/10
  • Overall – 9.5/10

I expected this to get a perfect 10/10 from me but the weird animation inconsistencies kind of forced my hand here. I still think that 9.5 is a fair rating though. Anyway, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
