Frieren Season 3 Confirmed!

Article at a glance:
- Frieren Season 3 has been officially announced, titled the “Golden Land Arc”, and is already in production at Madhouse with an October 2027 release window.
- The announcement came fast, dropping at the end of Season 2’s finale episode alongside a teaser visual, which is more than most early announcements give us.
- With the manga on hiatus since October 2025 at chapter 147 and the anime averaging ~2 chapters per episode, Season 3 is likely going to be another shorter season, so temper those expectations now.

I step away for just a couple of days because of my usual JOB, and I get bombarded with so many damn important anime announcements to cover. And you know what? Fair enough, my bad for going away right at the end of the season. But no worries, we will cover all the major ones. And speaking of major announcements, given how much time they took to announce Frieren Season 2, I didn’t think that Season 3 announcement would be this quick. They even gave us a release window this time around.
So yeah, welcome back to another news article. Today, we are talking about Frieren Season 3! And there’s a bit more information that you’d expect from an early announcement. So let’s get into it.

What do we know about Frieren Season 3?
Season 3 was announced with the end of the 10th and final episode of Season 3. Shortly after the episode aired, the official website also revealed a teaser visual for Season 3 as well. Season 3 is called the “Golden Land Arc” and it is already in production, targeting an October 2027 release. Of course, Madhouse is returning to produce Season 3, and I don’t think there are any major staff position changes, but things may change during production. And of course, all the voice cast is likely going to return for Season 3 as well.
But yeah, that covers about everything we know about Season 3 so far. It is interesting that they announced a release window already as well. But yeah, let’s move on to
My Thoughts
So one important thing to note here is that the manga has been on a hiatus for about 6 months now, since October 2025, and there’s no confirmed date of resumption. The latest chapter released right before that was 147. And for context, the anime so far has covered about 80 chapters between both seasons, which is an average of about 2 chapters per episode.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, this leads me to believe that Season 3 may be another shorter season like Season 2 was. I don’t think they would sanction a longer season for production, given the uncertain state of the manga. So temper your expectations of Season 3 with all that in mind. Because I know a lot of people were mad that Season 2 was just 10 episodes, even though the 10 episodes, especially the 2nd half, were incredibly well-made. So I am glad that Madhouse is taking things nice and slow. I would rather have this over whatever the hell OPM Season 3 was.
That is all for now
Either way, that’s enough of my yapping. I will now return to working on my Frieren Season 2 review. It is going to be a long one, and it will be out soon, I promise. I have been working on it since the morning. With that said, though, I will take my leave here. See ya!
