Gundam GQuuuuuuX Episode 7 Was…

Gundam GQuuuuuuX has been a bit of a mixed bag so far, but I feel like Episode 7 was the best episode of the anime yet. It was one of those episodes where everything set up starts paying off, and the status quo shifts dramatically. So far, the Clan Battles and all the war stuff was separate. But Episode 7 changes that with both storylines finally intersecting. I am pretty sure that GQuuuuuuX is scheduled for 24 episodes too and so that would mean we are about a third of the through it, at this point.

Well, welcome to another article and today, we are talking about Gundam GQuuuuuuX and why I liked Episode 7. I already made an article on the Witch from Mercury and that was so awesome so I will try my best to keep the Witch from Mercury comparisons to a minimum. But with that said, let’s get into it.

What do I think of Gundam GQuuuuuuX So far?

First, let’s get over my criticisms of the show. GQuuuuuuX feels a bit disjointed at times. If you are not familiar with the wider history of the Gundam world, GQuuuuuuX can feel a little intimidating. The whole 2nd episode is expositing who was Shar and how he died in this continuity. If you have watched Zeta Gundam, you’d be very familiar with Shar, but if you are not, the history lesson can be a bit overwhelming. Things like this and the sometimes odd pacing make the story a bit confusing at times, especially if you are new.

I am not sure how to feel about the whole “kira kira” thing. It is interesting that Machu and Nyaan want to fight so badly in a Clan Battle because when they fight with Shuji enter the “kira kira” thing and that basically becomes like a high for them to chase, especially for Machu. Because of that fact, we are not sure if they like Shuji because of who he is or because of the high. That could make for some interesting dynamics down the line and has potential. Machu going berserk in Episode 7 was also the result of her chasing that high again.

So what happens in Episode 7? Well, everything comes tumbling down. Annqi sells off Shuji and the red Gundam. This comes right after Machu learning that Nyaan took her place in the previous Clan Battle and all this causes her to go berserk. Her meltdown happens just as some other mech pilot is going crazy and attacking the Empress, Kycilla.

Seems like whatever Challia Bull wanted is coming to pass. Machu’s story and the Challia Bull side of things were separate till now but now both storylines have been merged and Challia Bull has Machu and the GQuuuuuuX now.

Despite my complaints, I do think that GQuuuuuuX is decent. It may not match the glory of the Witch from Mercury but it doesn’t have not. I don’t expect every Gundam Season to be Suisei no Majo 2 lol. Episode 7 of Gundam GQuuuuuuX was awesome and yeah, that’s all I have to say. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
