Bleach TYBW The End Two World Episode Review

Bleach TYBW The End Two World Episode Review

At a glance:

  • THE END Two World isn’t bad, but it’s easily the most underwhelming episode of TYBW so far.
  • Aizen and Yhwach finally clash, but the anime doesn’t quite deliver the spectacle we were hoping for.
  • The finale has set up some seriously high stakes, and the extra time for Episodes 49 and 50 might be exactly what we need.
Bleach TYBW The End Two World Episode Review

Look, I will be honest, this is probably the most disappointing episode of the entire TYBW anime so far. I know people had insane expectations from this episode simply because Aizen was showing up. And while I wasn’t expecting anything as grand as Aizen’s Bankai reveal to really happen, I was still a little let down by this episode. This could’ve been the episode of the series; this should’ve been an internet-breaking moment. But here we are. So here’s my episode review for Bleach TYBW The End Two World.

And of course, as always, there will be spoilers ahead. So let’s get started right away.

Was Bleach TYBW The Calamity Episode 48 BAD?

Bleach TYBW The End Two World Episode Review

Not really. It was very disappointing; it was underwhelming, but it was absolutely not a BAD episode. But the thing is, this episode could’ve been the best episode of Bleach, like EVER. And what we were presented with was the same underwhelming Yhwach vs. Aizen as in the manga. And the main issue is that even the animations didn’t look that great. The artwork was great; seeing things in daylight again felt awesome. The animations were a little wonky, though; I imagine this is why they moved the final two episodes to next month. More on that later, though.

But yeah, somehow even the Hado #99 looked underwhelming. It didn’t even connect in the anime. It is just such a weird choice to keep this fight the same as the manga after legit giving upscales to pretty much every other fight in this final stretch of TYBW, and a part of me feels like this episode should’ve been delayed as well because it just did not look good. I get it, there was no way they were going to match the astronomical expectations fans had for this episode, but it feels like they didn’t even try. Even Ryuken and Isshin just show up and hand Uryu the Still Silver arrowhead. No explanation for what they had been up to for so damn long.

It should’ve been purple. Just doesn’t feel the same in gold.

The one saving grace of this episode was the ending. Yhwach exists in all worlds and all timelines now. So it looks like literally everyone is going to join up to fight him across the three worlds. With Ichigo and Uryu finally getting to fight him together in the Seireitei. That is a good sign for the remaining two episodes, and a lot of complaints from this episode CAN be addressed and remedied in Episodes 49/50. But that doesn’t change the fact that we still feel a little robbed by this week’s episode. Ah well, there’s only so much they can do, I suppose, but I wish that they at least tried.

Bleach TYBW Episodes 49 and 50 delayed to October

Yep, you heard that right: episodes 49 and 50 are delayed by a month. Episode 49 will air on 19th October, and Episode 50 will air on 26th October. And I am perfectly fine with that. I’d rather wait a whole month for the finale to be as good as it possibly can be than get another meh episode like this. I will not complain about the delay at all. It is good that they realized they needed more time for the finale and called for the delay. Because the stakes they’ve set up for the final fight are insane, and things need to look right.

That is all for now

Look, I get it; I was disappointed as well. You know how hyped I was last week after the whole Uryu thing. But I’ve also seen people just excessively dunking on this episode. Disappointment is one thing, but being a negative Nancy about how it’s all over and how this one episode ruined TYBW, or something, is a little questionable to me. Cause if my memory serves right, just a few weeks ago we had the absolute best Bleach episode of all time. So let’s not go to extremes like that.

But yeah, that concludes my final Bleach TYBW episode review for now, and yeah, The End Two World was really underwhelming. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya.
