Dandadan, Let’s Talk About It

Article at a glance:
- The Dandadan anime, produced by Science SARU, is generating buzz due to the studio’s reputation for translating unique art styles into captivating animation.
- The story follows Momo Ayase and Ken as they debate the existence of aliens versus ghosts, only to discover both are real, setting up a unique shounen premise.
- With its cool art style and battle-focused narrative, Dandadan is expected to deliver visually impressive fight scenes that fans of the manga are looking forward to.

Okay, so the marketing push for this anime has kind of been crazy. Despite my job as a content writer, I pretty much live under a rock so not much marketing material finds its way to me. Dandadan however, somehow found its way to me through marketing material. That’s how I know that the marketing was quite aggressive. As it should be, I guess? It is a Shounen anime made by the talented staff of Science SARU, and that alone is a good enough reason to be excited.
But I got curious about it and did some digging on it. So let’s talk a bit about Dandadan today ahead of the Fall 2024 season. Also quick disclaimer, I have not read the manga or anything. I just got curious about the anime since a lot of people were talking about it and wanted to see if it was worth the time or not. Because Fall 2024 is stacked as is. So yeah, these are my thoughts as someone from the outside looking in. Let’s get started.

About Dandadan
So as I already mentioned, the anime will be made by Science SARU, which is an awesome studio. The manga has a pretty unique art style so I think Science SARU will do a good job at translating it into the anime format. The anime comes out on 4th October. It will be directed by Yamashiro Fuuga. The opening theme is “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts and the ending theme is “TAIDADA” by ZUTOMAYO. Wakayama Shion and Hanae Natsuki star as the main duo of the series.
As for the plot, it follows Momo Ayase who after getting rejected stumbles across a boy being bullied. She saves him and for some reason, Ken thinks that she is also interested in aliens like him. Ayase doesn’t believe in Aliens but she does believe in ghosts. Ken and Ayase get into an argument over this and to prove which one is real, they separately go to spots associated with rumors of them appearing. Well, turns out both of them are real. The story follows both of them as they try to deal with this weird situation they find themselves in.

My Thoughts
This anime is a battle shounen with a cool art style from what I’ve seen so far. And as I said, that alone is enough of a reason to be excited about something like this. A lot of people seem to love this manga so I am curious to see if it has some more surprises up its sleeves. I really like the art though, I think that the fights will look incredible with this art style. So yeah, I am excited about this anime even though I have more than enough on my plate with the Fall 2024 season.
That is all for now
So those were thoughts on the Dandadan anime. I will check it out for sure and we will see how things go from there. I am an easy person to please so maybe I’ll end up loving it lol. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
