Dandadan Episode 7 Was Beautiful – Full Review!

Look, I admit when I’m wrong. I was a bit skeptical when I wrote my episode 1 review but I have been enjoying the series a lot more than I initially expected. Yes, I still have some issues with it but it has been really enjoyable so far. And Dandadan Episode 7 has to be among my favorite episodes in this season so far, I’m glad I held off on writing this review till episode 7 dropped. Seriously, this episode had everything, a great story, some cool action, and a great character moment.
So yeah, welcome back to another mid-season review, today we are talking about Dandadan Episode 7 and the anime in general so far. Of course, spoilers ahead till episode 7, So yeah, let’s get started,
What do I think of Dandadan so far?
So let’s go over stuff I like first. As I mentioned back in my Episode 1 article, the relationship between Okarun and Momo continues to be the highlight of the show. They are both amazing characters, their personalities complement each other perfectly and their interactions are entertaining. Episode 7 also gave a great backstory to Aira as well. Looking forward to seeing what her character brings to the cast because we haven’t seen much of her so far despite getting such a great backstory for her
This was the case with Turbo Granny as well but Dandadan so far has been doing a great job of making the antagonists feel “human”. When Aira’s mother’s spirit passes on, it is a very emotional scene. And I appreciate that, stuff like that adds more stakes to the story. And of course, the anime is blessed on the production side as well. Science Saru has been going hard on the animations and the art. Again, I’ll refer you to episode 7, it was animated beautifully. It also has an amazing opening theme by Creepy Nuts. DANDADAN DANDADAN DANDADAN~
Now for my issues. I just have one major issue with the series at this point: too many things feel like they are left to chance, and some stuff is not explained. Like, why did only Turbo Granny’s consciousness leave Okarun’s body, leaving her powers intact inside him? I wish that the anime didn’t lean on contrivances as much as it does. I hope that this gets better with future episodes. But again, this is one issue among loads of other stuff I do like.

So yeah, that was my mid-season review for Dandadan, I’ll give the whole anime an easy 8/10 but Episode 7 gets a perfect 10/10. It was an awesome episode. But yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. See ya!
