Man, we yuri fans keep winning. It has been a while since I saw a trailer for an anime I knew nothing about and went “This is it”. Yuri, fantasy, and death themes?? Yeah, you just know that this anime is about to go crazy and I am in for whatever this show is cooking. It has been a while since we had a good yuri show and it looks like I Want to Love You till Your Dying Day is here to fill the void. If this is anywhere as good as Magical Revolution, dude I will go feral. I am joking of course, but yeah, I am very excited about this, as you can tell.
So welcome back to another edition of Put This on Your Radar – the series where I talk about upcoming anime that caught my eye. Today we are talking about the I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day anime. We got a surprising chunk of info on this anime just minutes earlier. Let’s get into it.
about I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day Anime
The anime will be based on the manga of the same name by Nachi Aono. This announcement comes to us, of course, the courtesy of Kadokawa. We got a bunch of info about the anime. First and foremost, they released a “pilot film” for the anime, which you can check out right here. I don’t know why they’re calling it a pilot film, it’s basically just a trailer. The anime will be directed by Takudai Kakuchi at ROLL2 studio along with assistant director, Yasuhi Tomoda.
The anime will star Takahashi Rie, Asami Seto, Rina Hidaka, and Yui Ishikawa as the main cast. As for the plot, it is about an orphanage where girls are trained to be machines of war, and no one bats an eye at death. Our protagonist, Sheena though, wants all the conflict around her to end, having grown tired of the constant fighting. One day, she meets a girl drenched in blood and smiling despite it. Turns out she is Mimi, an immortal soldier, and soon-to-be Sheena’s roommate. Sheena’s world grows more complex as she is faced with Mimi someone who welcomes death.
That covers all the news for now, let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Man, I really like that plot too. This show just keeps enticing me more and more by the moment. The voice cast looks really good as well. We have some big names there so you just know that the performances are going to be great. I don’t know the director or the studio though, but if that pilot film is anything to go by, the animation quality should be fine. Yeah, I am very excited about this anime and I will be keeping an eye out for it. Especially since they didn’t announce a release window for it.
That is all for now
Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I think that this anime will be great. I am ready for some dark stuff given the plot summary. Doomed yuri always goes hard, doesn’t it? With that said, I will take my leave here. I need sleep. See ya!
