NieR: Automata Ver1.1a Broadcast Postponed

COVID-19 came into the world almost 3 years ago and to this day, it remains a huge thorn in our side. We think it is over but it keeps coming back again and again. It is truly like an annoying gnat. Fortunately, my country has been pretty chill in terms of cases for a long time. But, in Japan on the other hand the cases peaked again recently. As a result, the broadcast of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a has been postponed.
So welcome to a rather downer of a news article. Today we are talking about the broadcast postponement announcement of NieR: Automata Ver1.1a. One of my favorite animes of the season is sadly getting delayed. Well, I don’t blame A1 Pictures given the circumstances in Japan right now, they made the right decision. Here’s all you need to know about the delay.
About the Delay…
As you know, NieR: Automata Ver1.1a was being made by A1 Pictures and at the time of writing, 3 episodes have aired. Episode 4 was due next week but, it’s been delayed for atΒ least 3 weeks now. The broadcast of episode 4 onwards is officially postponed until further notice. So we have no exact window or time frame of when the series will be back.
I said at least 3 weeks because starting 29th January, A1 Pictures will rebroadcast the first three episodes of the series. So there’s a chance that things may improve after the 3-week gap and episode 4 may air on 19th February. This is just baseless speculation on my part though, we need to wait for an official confirmation. We should have our official confirmation in the coming week though, that is for certain.
My Thoughts

Goes without saying, I am really saddened by this news. This anime was hands down my favorite one from this season, sucks that I have to wait longer to see it. Still, it is better than people having to risk getting infected, again as I said, A1 Pictures did the right thing by postponing the broadcast. I hope things calm down soon over there so that we may enjoy NieR: Automata Ver1.1a soon again.
From what I have observed, COVID comes and goes in Japan. Almost like a Sine graph. So thingsΒ shouldΒ settle down in a few weeks. That’s why I am hoping that 3 weeks is enough time for them to get back. If it’s not, oh well, we’ll wait longer. This really reminds me of the 86 Season 2 delay, the most hyped anime of that season, delayed for months. I hope this delay isn’t that severe. 86 was delayed at a very crucial point too, just when the last 2 episodes of the season were remaining.
Conclusion
Well, that is all for now. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. I am sure all of us are saddened by this announcement. But, please remember, they have to do this because of the situation. So please don’t hate on A1 Pictures for doing this. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
