Komugi Awaya's The Banished Saint's Pilgrimage Manga Ending Soon

Komugi Awaya's manga, The Banished Saint's Pilgrimage: From Dying to Thriving, is set to end with its third compiled volume. The final volume is scheduled for release on August 10, according to listings on Amazon.

The story follows Princess Platina, a saint devoted to her kingdom, despite suffering harsh treatment. She learns she does not have much time left to live. Afterward, her stepsister banishes her on a difficult pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

A captive knight named Eisen accompanies Platina as her attendant and witness on this journey. The manga explores what happens to both characters as they travel together under these challenging circumstances.

Originally a light novel series by Machibari, the story first appeared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2022. Machibari concluded the novel in February 2025. Earth Star Entertainment released three volumes of the light novel, with illustrations by Yura Chūjō.

Komugi Awaya began adapting the series into manga format on Square Enix's Gangan Online manga site in September 2023. The English version is available through Square Enix's Manga UP! Global service.

With the third volume marking the conclusion, fans can expect a full arc resolution by this summer. The series blends drama, fantasy, and a journey of survival despite bleak odds. Given its steady following, the announcement brings a mix of anticipation and bittersweet feelings for readers.
