Well, I certainly did not expect to see My Dress Up Darling Season 2 pop up so soon. Well, I guess it makes sense since the manga just concluded. Speaking of, I didn’t make an ending review for this manga because, well, there just isn’t much to say. The manga just ends, it is kind of abrupt, but at least it makes sense, unlike certain other manga endings we saw recently. Either way, going back to the anime, Season 2 is just a few months away, surprisingly.

So welcome back to another news article. We have another big announcement from Anime Japan 2025 to talk about. I feel like next week will also just be me catching up with the Anime Japan announcements lol. I haven’t even gotten the chance to check out the Solo Leveling Season 2 finale yet. Anyhow, for now, we are talking about My Dress Up Darling Season 2. So let’s get into it.

What do We Know about My Dress Up Darling Season 2?

Well, the anime is scheduled for a Summer 2025 release. More specifically, it will start airing sometime in July. As I said, Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a big season. This announcement comes to us from Aniplex’s event stage in Anime Japan. They also unveiled a promotional video titled “Memories” and released an illustration to commemorate the announcement. The first season of the anime will also be rebroadcast in Japan starting 11th April as a build-up to Season 2.

CloverWorks will be returning to animate Season 2. All of the major staff and cast members from Season 1 will be returning for Season 2 as well. So Season 2 will also be directed by Shinohara Keisuke. I don’t think any new cast members have been announced so far, maybe that will come down the line. Either way, that covers all the news for now.

My Thoughts

It goes without saying that I am very excited about this anime. A whole bunch of romance mangas just ended, so all we can do for now is wait for their anime adaptations to catch up. Hopefully, we will start getting some more good romance series soon. For example, I really enjoyed Crush At Work this season, and I wish it got sequels down the line as well. My Dress Up Darling is one of the more mainstream romance shows, and for a good reason.

It is one of the few romance animes that have an MC with some actual charm and personality. It makes sense why Marin likes him, and their relationship does progress, even though it may be a slow burn. All that sai,d though, Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a really good season. We have everything from Sakamoto Days Part 2, Gran Blue Season 2, to Kaiju No. 8 Season 2. Loads of things to look forward to in the next season.
