New Evangelion Anime Coming Soon???

Article at a glance:
- Evangelion is officially getting a brand-new weekly anime series, not a movie, not a special, but a full-on TV project. And that alone is insane to think about.
- Yoko Taro and Kazuya Tsurumaki leading an Eva project feels like someone mashed up NieR and Evangelion in a lab and said, “Yeah, let’s emotionally ruin everyone again.”
- After 3.0+1.0’s ending, nobody knows what timeline this could even follow, which honestly just makes this whole thing even more exciting (and slightly terrifying).

Okay, I know I am a couple of days late to this, but WOW. I go away for two days, and this is what I come back to? A new Evangelion anime announcement is just wild to even think about. What’s surprising is that this will be a series, not a movie or a special; it will be a full-fledged weekly anime series. I don’t think Evangelion has had a proper anime series since the original back in the day. So anything new related to Evangelion is interesting as is, but a full-on anime series? Man, I would’ve never seen this coming.
So yeah, welcome back to another article. Today, we are talking about the new Evangelion anime. We don’t know a lot about it, but what they’ve announced so far does inspire confidence. So let’s talk about it.

What do we know about the new Evangelion anime?
So recently, Evangelion had its 30th anniversary event called “Evangelion: 30+;” and in the final program, they had a huge surprise for us all. They announced that a new anime series for Eva is under production and gave us an announcement video. What’s better is that we got a bunch of staff announcements too, and it looks pretty interesting. Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for Gundam: GQuuuuuuX, will be directing the anime, and Yoko Taro, yes, the creator of NieR, is in charge of the series composition.
Keiichi Okabe will be the main music director, and the anime will be a collaborative production between Hideaki Anno’s studio, Khara, and CloverWorks. You can check out the announcement video here, though there’s not much in it other than the information we already know.
But yeah, that covers all the news, so let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Okay, what is this timeline? Yoko Taro working on an Evangelion anime sounds like a damn fever dream. And if this is a dream, don’t you dare wake me up LOL. Let Yoko Taro and Anno cook, whatever they produce is going to peak and somehow the most depressing thing you’ve ever seen, even if you barely get it lmfao. I am very interested in seeing what the story will even be about, given how conclusive 3.0 + 1.0 was. I mean, the movie literally ended with Shinji and Mari running out into the real world. I don’t know how you even continue after that.
But well, this is Anno and Yoko Taro we are talking about. So I am willing to bet they have something cooking up in the oven for sure. Either way, I really, really do look forward to seeing whatever this anime series ends up being. Heck, I would be happy to even have the original anime series with the modern Rebuild animation budget lol, though I really doubt that’s what we’ll get.
That is all for now
Let me know what you guys think in the comments. A new Evangelion anime series sounds really exciting, but yeah, with that said, I will take my leave here. Gonna go play more Elden Ring, yes, I am addicted once again, but yeah, see ya!
