Rock is a Lady’s Modesty is Surprisingly Good

I saw a clip of this anime online that convinced me to give it a chance. And man, I glad that I gave Rock is a Lady’s Modesty a chance. Only 3 episodes are out at the time of writing but I am already hooked. The setting is interesting, the characters are good and most importantly, the show is just plain dumb fun to watch. If the show keeps going like this, it may become one of my favorites from this season. There is very little that this anime does wrong and I enjoyed every moment of those 3 episodes.

So welcome back to another first impressions article. Today, we are talking about Rock is a Lady’s Modesty. I recommend going into this show bling but, don’t worry there are no major spoilers ahead. So let’s get started.

What did I think of Rock is a Lady’s Modesty?

First of all, I like the premise of the show. The sheer thought of these really rich ojou-samas liking and playing hard rock music is just inherently funny. And then you add in the inetersting character dynamics and hilarious dialog to the mix and you’ve got a banger on your hands. Ever single interaction between Lilisa and Otoha is so entertaining, they’re good refined ojou-samas in front of the others. But when they’re alone, they are contantly badmouthing and cursing each other hard. It is hilarious.

Lilisa is an inetesting character too. Yeah, the way we learn her motivations is a little clunky but the way she feels makes sense. Lilisa’s mother got married into this really wealthy family, Suzunomiya, And since Lilisa was born a commoner, she feels like an outsider in the Suzunomiya family. So she wants to prove herself to the family just to ensure that her mother can live a happy life. And then you’ve got Alice, Lilisa’s adoptive sister and I have a feeling, her character arc will be good.

The anime also looks really good. The art style is unique, the scenes where Lilisa and Otoha are playing look exceptionally good. I just found out that this anime is made by Bandai Namco pictures, which is basically Sunrise. So no wonder it looks so good. Of course, if you like rock, the music direction is really good too. But yeah, this anime far exceed my expectations so far.
