BanG Dream: Ave Mujica, everything We Know So Far

Article at a glance:

  • BanG Dream: Ave Mujica, a direct sequel to It’s MyGO, airs January 2, 2025, with returning staff from the previous season.
  • Features Rico Sasaki, Yuzuki Watase, and others as voice actors and singers for Ave Mujica, including the opening theme.
  • Builds on the success of It’s MyGO, aiming to deliver more engaging band drama for fans and newcomers alike.

In case you are unfamiliar with the BanG Dream series, all of these animes come from the game series of the same name. You don’t need to play the game to understand the animes and if you don’t have time to watch all the seasons, BanG Dream: It’s MyGO is a great starting point. It requires no previous knowledge and it is one of the best seasons of the BanG Dream anime series. With It’s MyGO being as good as it was, I can’t help but be excited about BanG Dream: Ave Mujica. Yes, it will focus on a different band but it will also serve as a direct sequel to MyGO and all characters from MyGO will also make an appearance in Ave Mujica!

We recently got some new updates about BanG Dream: Ave Mujica though so I really wanted to talk about it. So yeah, welcome to another news article, and let’s quickly go over everything we know about Ave Mujica so far!

What do we know about BanG Dream: Ave Mujica?

Like most of the previous entries in the series, Ave Mujica will also be made by Sanzigen. The studio has been doing a pretty good job so no issues here. Most of the major staff members from It’s MyGO are also returning to make Ave Mujica like the director, Koudai Kakimoto. From what I’ve seen pretty much all the announced staff members have worked on the previous installments of the BanG Dream series. Ave Mujica will start airing soon on January 2nd, 2025. Winter 2025 is a relatively dry season so it’s good to have more stuff to watch.

The main cast stars Rico Sasaki, Yuzuki Watase, Mei Okada, Akane Yonezawa, and Kanon Takao. They will be voicing and be singing for the members of the titular band, Ave Mujica. In typical BanG Dream fashion, the opening theme will also be sung by the titular band, Ave Mujica lol. We also got a key visual and a new promotional video. You can check that out here!

My Thoughts

Look, I have not played Bandori. Rhythm games aren’t exactly my strong point so I am not sure what the band Ave Mujica is about. Going purely off the PV above, I like their vibe. It’s MyGO was really well-received even outside of the core audience for the series and I hope that Ave Mujica can repeat its success. Almost all entries in the BanG Dream anime series have been great so far, by the way, so I don’t think there’s a reason to worry. Band drama has quickly become one of my favorite sub-genres as is lol.

Pretty sure my love for this genre started back during the K-On days, even though that anime is mostly comedy. The anime that really opened my eyes to this sub-genre has to be Sound Euphonium though. I picked up BanG Dream right after that as I looking for more things in the sub-genre. So yeah, I will finally have some new band drama content to feast on soon lol.

That is all for now

So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. BanG Dream: Ave Mujica looks great and I look forward to it. With that said. I will take my leave here. See ya!
