Fall 2024 has been an amazing season for anime. I have been keeping up with an insane number of shows this season and I am damn sure we are not going to see another season like this for a while. Like Winter 2025 already is much smaller than Fall 2024 lol. Almost every major release of 2024 was in this season for some reason. But a few anime stood out and today I want to look at what I think are the best Fall 2024 anime!
Of course, this is my opinion. Your list will likely vary and that’s perfectly fine. I just want to shout out the shows that drew me in every single week and kept me looking forward to the next episode. So welcome to another article and let’s talk about the best anime from the Fall 2024 season!
Honorable Mention: DanMachi Season 4.
Couldn’t fit it in the top 5 but it still belongs here!
Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
Man, there’s just nothing else out there that is like Orb at the moment. The first 3 episodes alone, provide us with the compelling story of Rafal and just when start to feel like the anime will be about him, well, turns out all that was just a prologue to the main story. There isn’t a “protagonist” in Orb, the focus shifts between different characters depending on where we are in the story. This leads to some fantastic character development. Combine that with the compelling narrative and world-building, and you have something special.
Blue Box
It is so hard to pinpoint just what makes this anime click. It is not very deep or anything but I think it is just the way that the characters are portrayed that makes this anime special. It has been a while since a slice-of-life anime has had me this invested. Blue Box blends the sports, slice-of-life, and romance genres so well. And then we have some great character writing on top of that. It is just wholesome fun with relatable characters and sometimes that’s all you need.
Dandadan
Yes, if you’ve read my review of it, I do have some issues with Dandadan. But even I can’t deny how much I actually enjoyed the show. As I said with Blue Box, sometimes plain old fun is all you need. Dandadan has so many things going for it, I would be surprised if an anime like this wasn’t fun. Quirky characters with brilliant interactions, amazing animations with some cool fights, and a banger opening theme by Creepy Nuts. It is mindless dumb fun in the best way possible.
Re: Zero Season 3
This is where the light novel clicked for me and I am glad to see that holds true for a lot of the anime audience as well. Season 2 was quite slow and I almost dropped the anime because of it. But I knew for a fact that Season 3 would be good and here we are. Subaru and Emilia got some top-tier character development, the plot is amazing because of all the complex political stuff, and we get 4 Arch-Bishops in one arc. And all this is just based on the first half, the second half of the arc comes out in February!
Bleach TYBW Part 3
Are you surprised at all? I have to stop myself from doing weekly reviews for this Bleach at this point. Part 3 has been so damn good. Yes, it has had minor setbacks like Baby Hold Your Hand Part 1 wasn’t that well animated and stuff but overall, the has been improving drastically over the manga. We got 3 whole new fight scenes and all of them were amazing. Shunsui’s Bankai reveal was damn perfect. Bleach makes me feel like a damn kid with how hyped I am for each episode. And there are 3 more episodes to go. I just can’t help but fawn over it, man.
That is all for now
That is all for now. Those were my picks for the best anime of the fall 2024 season. Of course, I have not watched everything but these were my favorites from what I’ve watched. Let me know your favorites in the comments. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
