What’s Going On With Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2?

Article at a glance:

• Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 has no confirmed release date, and the rest of the season may not air until late 2025.
• The long gaps between Whispers of Dawn (2023), Episode 1 (2024), and the upcoming episodes hurt the show’s hype and viewer engagement.
• Fans who prefer a regular release schedule feel left in the dark, as the uncertainty makes it difficult to stay excited.

This is one of those rare times when bad marketing annoys me. I seriously don’t like the way they are handling the release pattern of Strange Fake. Episode 1 dropped about 6 weeks ago so where is Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2? Well, we have no idea. As I will discuss in just a moment, we have no clear release date for episode 2 and beyond. We may even have to wait a few more months for it and it is infuriating. Believe me, I don’t usually get annoyed but this really is annoying.

Again, I don’t know what to call this article. Can’t exactly call it a news article because there is no news to share. But still. Welcome back to another article, today we are discussing the current situation of Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 and beyond. Let’s get started.

What do we know about the Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 situation?

Well, Episode 1 was released so early because of the Fate 20th anniversary event and the New Year event. We have no exact release dates for Episode 2 and beyond. We only know that they are scheduled to air sometime this year (2025) and we may have to wait at least a few months for them. As you can see, there’s no mention of Fate/Strange Fake whatsoever in recent news so I doubt we will see the return anytime before the 2nd half of 2025. Yeah, we may have to wait that long.

I think that covers the whole situation. Let’s move to the discussion.

My Thoughts

I really don’t like how they are handling the release schedule for Strange Fake. They’ve lost all the hype and excitement Whispers of Dawn and Episode 1 built up. I know that the upcoming episodes will be good, of course, they will be good because the novel is great. But the thing is, Whispers of Dawn came out in 2023 and that was a prequel to episode 1. Then episode 1 dropped at the end of 2024 and now the rest of the season will drop in the latter half of 2025! You see how this kind of broken release kills the flow and the hype?

And the worst part is, we still don’t know how long we will have to wait for the rest of the season. There is a very good chance that the final episode of this season of Strange Fake will air over a year apart from Episode 1, which is just insane to think about. Of course, you can just wait and watch everything together at once but it is not fair to people like us who like to watch weekly.

That is all for now

I apologize if I got a little too ranty there but I seriously don’t like what they are doing with the release schedule of Fate/Strange Fake. Audience expectation matters and losing all the hype for a show is seldom good. Regardless, that is all you need to know about Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
