One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 6: The Lowest Rated Anime Episode EVER

Article at a glance:

  • OPM Season 3 Episode 6 just became the lowest-rated anime episode in IMDb history, and somehow I picked this week to skip watching.
  • Bandai took a golden goose and handed us a rubber chicken, and I’m still trying to process the emotional damage.
  • What should’ve been peak hype ended up looking like a PowerPoint presentation with mouth-flaps, so yeah, let’s talk about the disaster.

I go ONE WEEK, ONE WEEK without watching One Punch Man Season 3, and Episode 6 ends up being the lowest-rated anime episode on IMDB OF ALL TIME. Do I need to make an article on Season 3 EVERY WEEK? And this comes right after I praised Episode 5 for at least TRYING to do something good. Can this get any worse?? I mean, really, can this whole situation get ANY WORSE??? What the hell, Bandai? You had a golden goose that would just print a lot of money, and THIS is how you treat it?

Disclaimer: Despite all the venting in this article, I am only criticizing the product and Bandai Namco. I do not condone or support any harassment towards the anime team; they were dealt a losing hand, and they’re just dealing with it. It is sad that I even need to explain this, but PLEASE don’t harass any of the anime staff.

So yeah, another week, another One Punch Man Season 3 article, and today we are talking about Episode 6. I… I can’t believe that this is what they’ve done to ONE’s masterpiece. Let’s just get started. I am about to blow a fuse.

Why is One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 6 now THE WORST Rated Anime Episode on IMDB?

Well, if you haven’t noticed, anime comes from the word animation. Because of how Japanese pronunciation works, anime is the short form of the word animation. So an anime has to have SOME degree of animation, right? Well, not if you’re watching OPM Season 3 Episode 6. This is just some professional VAs reading out the manga to you at this point. Actually, not even that because the art in the manga is still 100 times better than whatever the hell the anime is doing.

Saying that OPM Season 3 Episode 6 was barely animated is like saying two mannequins staring at each other is sexual tension. I am actually having a meltdown right now. I am struggling to form sentences to describe my frustration. This episode legit had me balling up my fists in anger like I am about to throw a haymaker at absolutely nothing and STILL MISS. The sheer frustration from this episode made me lose brain cells. In fact, I swear I lost brain cells so fast I could hear them packing tiny suitcases and fleeing the premises.

The entire episode, we just get people talking without ANY body movement whatsoever. And of course, as usual, they talk against these really bad blank or solid color backgrounds as well. Even the Muse Asia mods couldn’t find a good frame from the whole episode to make a thumbnail from. And you KNOW how good those guys are at their thumbnail game. The only two things animated in this whole episode were the mouths and the two scenes of King walking.

Let’s keep the manga aside for now and tell me this: how is that I’ve seen actual cosplays that look better than the character models in the anime adaptation?? What has gone so wrong with man?

That is all for now

At this point, it’s clear the real villain here is Bandai, because the anime team is doing the best they can with a budget that probably fits in a vending machine. Episode 6 doesn’t feel like an adaptation; it feels like Bandai mailed us a shrug. I wouldn’t be surprised if Episode 7 is animated on a TI-84 at this rate. Honestly, I’m done. I am about to blow a nerve. I’m off to play some Hades 2 to vent this frustration; those Sirens have had it coming for a while. See ya.
