Youjo Senki Season 2 is Going to Be a Banger

Article at a glance:
- It’s been nine years since Season 1, and time has no right to move this fast, but Tanya’s return makes the existential crisis worth it.
- Season 2 promises more unhinged battlefield genius, more spite-fueled victories, and yes, war crimes back on the menu.
- With Studio NUT returning and a fresh PV dropping, Youjo Senki Season 2 finally feels real—and expectations are sky-high.

Man, Season 1 aired in 2017. That means by the time Youjo Senki Season 2 airs, it will be 9 years since Season 1. That is CRAZY. I still can’t process where 2025 went, and you’re telling me that it has been almost 7 years since I watched Seaosn 1? I am not even that old, but seeing time fly like this does make me FEEL old. But, circling back to anime. War crimes are so back on the table. You just know that we are in for another season of Tanya committing some of the most heinous war crimes out of sheer spite. And I am here for it.
So welcome back to another article, and today, we are talking about Youjo Senki Season 2. First, we will go over all the news, and then we will go over my thoughts on it. So let’s get started.

Everything we know about Youjo Senki Season 2 so far
Unfortunately, we don’t have a locked-in release date or even a release season as of now. We only know that the anime will come out sometime in 2026. When in 2026? We have no idea. BUT, we know that the new season will be directed by Takayuki Yamamoto at the returning studio, NUT. Season 2 was announced quite a while ago, but we finally have some more info as they dropped a new teaser visual and PV for Season 2 recently.
You can check out the PV here, not much, but hearing Yuki Aoi go insane as Tanya is always a treat. And yeah, of course, that means that all the main cast members from Season 2 are returning to Season 2 as well.
But that covers all the news for now, so let’s move on to
My Thoughts
Honestly, I think the best part about Youjo Senki coming back is the sheer entertainment value of watching Tanya go absolutely feral on the battlefield again. There is just something so uniquely fun about seeing this tiny, blonde gremlin of a child soldier outmaneuver grown military leaders, defy literal God out of spite, and commit war crimes like she’s speedrunning a Geneva Convention any%. Tanya is one of the few protagonists who is both horrifying and hilarious at the same time.
After waiting this long, I just want Season 2 to go absolutely insane with the scale, the strategy, and Tanya’s downward-spiral-meets-upward-success arc. It’s been nine years since Season 1, and I genuinely hope that this insane wait ends up being worth it, because if there’s one character who can justify a nearly decade-long gap, it’s Tanya Degurechaff. Too many disappointing sequels in recent memory, right?
That is all for now
So yeah, let me know what you guys think in the comments. I look forward to seeing what Youjo Senki Season 2 cooks up and yeah, it better be good. With that said, I will take my leave here. Got some work to take care of. See ya!
