DanMachi Season 5 Episode 12 was ABSOLUTE CINEMA!

Article at a glance:
- The full-episode battle between Ryu and Hogni was intense, well-animated, and showcased Ryu at her full strength for the first time.
- While some plot elements feel contrived and the tone shifts inconsistently, the War Game arc’s fights have been amazing, highlighting the Freya Familia’s overwhelming strength.
- With Episode 14 dropping on Feb 26 and the finale on March 7, the anticipation is high, especially after the high-quality action in Episode 12.

Well, DanMachi Season 5 sure came back sooner than I expected. I’m pretty sure the targeted release of the remaining 4 episodes was for the next season. But hey, I will take it, especially considering how good Episode 12 was. DanMachi Season 5 has been full of surprises and Episode 12 was definitely among the best of this season. Episode 13 was good too but Episode 12 is just perfection. A full-episode fight between Ryu and Hogni? Sign me up. And the fight was really well done too.
So yeah, welcome back to another article. And today, I will be gushing some more about DanMachi Season 5, Episode 12 in particular. Season 5 hasn’t been perfect by any means but man, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite seasons of the show. So let’s talk about it.

What did I think of DanMachi Season 5 episode 12?
Well, let’s start with certain complaints I have from Season 5. I know that this is a common complaint but certain plot elements are so contrived. It is very convenient how everyone remembers that it was Freya who charmed them. Then I didn’t like how guilty everyone felt because they unknowingly treated Bell as a stranger. It could’ve just been a quick apology but nah. Yes, that is nitpick, I know. Another thing I wish was done a little better is the inconsistent tone. We switch from comedy to serious stuff so quickly, sometimes it undermines the serious stuff.
On to the good stuff now, as I mentioned, the Ryu vs. Hogni fight was amazing. I don’t think we’ve seen Ryu at her full strength like this before. Cause in the last season, she was battered and bruised all the time. But here? She is a badass. Mia gave her a new sword and she used it to beat the brakes off Hogni. But, of course, Hogni wasn’t going down without a fight. To increase the chances of Ryu’s victory, Liliruca had others sacrifice themselves to exhaust Hogni and the victory was so sweet.

Honestly, all the fights in the current War Game arc have been really good. Really goes on to show just how insanely strong the Freya Familia is. Even though they’re the bad guys here, they still took on god knows how many other Familias in this War Game. I was really hoping that we’d get to see more of Aiz in action but for some reason, she almost never gets much screen time despite being the love interest of the protagonist. Still, despite my complaints, Season 5 has been nothing short of incredible so far.
That is all for now
In case you missed it, Episode 14 will come out on 26th Feb and then the Season 5 finale, Episode 15 will come out on 7th March. I am really looking forward to the finale, especially after witnessing how good Episode 12 was. With that said, I will take my leave here. See ya!
