Fate Strange Fake Episode 2 was a Banger!

Article at a glance:

  • After over a year of waiting, Fate/Strange Fake Episode 2 finally delivers, and it hits hard, setting a seriously high bar for the rest of the season.
  • Top-tier production across the board: incredible voice acting, Sawano’s music doing what it does best, and direction that’s just a treat to watch.
  • Character presence is already insane, with Jester and Hansa stealing the spotlight in completely opposite ways, proving this cast means business.

Man, over a year later, we are finally here. Fate Strange Fake Episode 2 is finally out. Mind you, Episode 1 was first released in December 2024, lmfao. They did re-air episode 1 last week, but it’s the same episode from last year. They just re-aired to fit with the proper weekly broadcast this once. And man, I have to say, Episode 2 was a damn banger. If every episode in this season is going to be like this, we are in for an absolute treat, and I cannot wait to see more of the anime.

It feels so good to have more high-quality Fate content to look forward to because I don’t think I was working this job when any of the major Fate anime projects were airing. But, I digress. Of course, we are here to talk about Fate Strang Fake Episode 2 today. So let’s get started.

Minor spoilers for the episode ahead, nothing crazy.

What did I think of Fate Strange Fake Episode 2?

The first two things I would like to praise are the voice acting and music. Of course, Sawano is doing the soundtrack; no wonder it is very good. Fate has always had some iconic voices, but even then, Fate Strange Fake manages to stand out with just how good its voice work is. The dub adaptation has a LOT to measure up to, especially when it comes to characters like Hansa and Jester.

And yeah, speaking of, Jester’s entrance was so damn cool. I was praising his voice actor for a reason; the moment he walks into the scene, he just commands attention like nobody else. Sure, the animations and direction make him stand out even more, but before all that, you hear him. And it is immediately clear that this is someone you don’t want to mess with. Jester is voiced by Tatsumaru Tachibana, by the way. And then Hansa is his complete opposite. He does such a good job of making you and even the characters forget he was even there.

Other than the voice acting, the direction is absolutely lovely too. I don’t just mean the animations; the shot composition and camera movement are incredibly pleasing as well. When Assassin breaks in from the ceiling, the 360° shot of everything around her looks so damn clean. I really cannot praise the production enough. Every single aspect of the production is just pleasing to the senses. Of course, since its Fate, the plot also seems pretty intriguing so far, but too soon to comment on the plot just yet.

That is all for now

So yeah, Fate Strange Fake has set the bar pretty high, and I really hope it lives up to it. But let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. I am off to play more Hades II, I finally beat Typhon today lol. See ya!
