It has been almost 2 years since we last had an update on Natsume Yuujinchou. In 2021, a movie titled The Walking Rock and The Strange Visitor was released, since then, we had no updates on the series till now. I was worried that we may not see this series continue but, those concerns were unnecessary as Natsume Yuujinchou Season 7 is now officially confirmed!

What do we know about Natsume Yuujinchou Season 7?
The official website of Natsume Yuujinchou Anime announced today that a seventh season is under production. It is the 15th anniversary of the anime series so we got a teaser commemorating that too. And a very pretty looking visual to go with that. We did not get a release window or the production details as this is just the initial announcement. But those updates should be coming soon.
Although, I think it is fair to assume that the original cast of the series will be making a return. The staff may change around a bit though. Seasons 5 and 6 and the movie were made by a studio called Shuka so I think they will be making a return to animate this season as well. You can check out the 15th anniversary PV here.

What do I think?
I am so glad to see this anime make a return. You see, Natsume Yuujinchou helped me through a bit of a rough patch in my life. So the connection I have to this anime is different. This show has almost brought me to tears more times than I care to count. The OST used in the PV also sounds so nostalgic. I have my complaints with the anime but I really do relate with Natsume as I was in a similar situation to him at some point. Minus all the supernatural aspects of course.
So I think it goes without saying that I am really excited for the 7th Season. And I cannot wait to see it. I think it will come out sometime next year, hopefully in the first half. But that is just speculation.
