Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 6 was PEAK Brainrot

So apparently the concept of the 4th was completely forgotten when they were making this episode. Episode 6 is exactly what I expected out of Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan and it was worth it. This episode was completely off the rails. With multiple 4th wall breaks, and multiple references to other media, it made no sense but it was enjoyable as hell. And boy do I hope that this anime stays like this moving forward. The show has had its ups and downs but this, in my opinion, is the best episode so far.

Yes, I am aware that this is not everyone’s brand of humor. But if you like this kind of gag or absurdist comedy, you will love this. It has been a while since we got something this crazy in the comedy genre and I am here for it. So grab your deer crackers and let’s talk about Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 6. Yes, this is another mid-season review as well.

What did I think of Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 6?

First of all, I love how the narrator acknowledged that we’re halfway through the season at this point. And to “celebrate” that, we started with a collection of 18 short stories. And they were really short, and that was the first half of the episode. I won’t go through all of them but you can imagine what kind of stories they were. They made as little sense as you may expect and they were hilarious.

We then switch gears to the summer season and the narrator exclaims that “it is finally summer in Hino city” only for Koshitan to correct him that they do get summer lol. But it doesn’t stop there, the narrator explains further that there was no summer season in the manga for years XD. And then we get a series of some of the most hilarious 4th wall breaks I have seen. They straight-up show Bambi running in front of Disney’s Castle logo…Koshitan stops them before they go too far and get a copyright strike. Man, it is hard playing the straight man in unhinged comedies.

It is hard to be “critical” of an anime like this. Like even the anime accepts that is a “dumb gag anime” so “please don’t take us too seriously”. But, I understand that this isn’t everyone’s type of humor and I also accept that some episodes so far have been kind of meh. This episode though, this episode I can easily give a 10/10 simply because of how many times I said “wtf” or choked on my food during it. Eating while watching this episode was a bad idea.
