Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 Episode 8 Was INSANE

At a glance:

• The story is finally converging: All the politics, world-building, and different plot threads are starting to come together, and things are getting VERY interesting.
• Leon and Marie get some much-needed character work: Both characters have come a long way, and Episode 8 gives us some pretty important moments for them.

Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 has been going 100 miles an hour for a while now. And man, Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 Episode 8 really delivered, especially with that ending. I have my issues with Season 2, but overall, Season 2 has been a pretty good improvement over Season 1. There is a lot more world-building, there are a lot more politics, and I really like how there’s a lot of stuff going on at once in the plot. Episodes 7 and 8 are where things start converging.

So yeah, welcome back to another article. Today we are talking about Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 Episode 8. There will be spoilers ahead because there are a lot of twists in the recent episode that are best experienced for yourself. But yeah, let’s talk about it

What did I think of Trapped in a Dating Sim Season 2 Episode 8?

First and foremost, I have to say, I appreciate Marie’s character development. She has always been this insecure little gremlin who just wants people to accept her. But she often uses very twisted ways to get what she wants. And given her previous life, it makes sense why she turned out this way. I wish we got a little more time between them and a proper reconciliation scene between her and Leon. Their reunion was pretty short despite being built up for so long. Though I do like her character work a lot. Yes, she is annoying, but that’s on purpose.

Leon himself got a lot of character development in the recent episodes. Slowly but surely, he lost what little respect he had for the country and all the other Noble houses. He slowly but surely ran out of patience, and this all culminates beautifully at the end of Episode 8 when Leon finally kills for the first time. Throughout the series, he avoided killing people like the plague, but by Episode 8, he just gave up. He accepted that he had no choice, and it feels like a very human choice. And I really appreciate just how much bullshit he had to put up with to even get to this point.

I am still waiting for Olivia to get her proper moment. The whole season so far has been building on how useless she feels and how she thinks that she doesn’t deserve Leon. I am waiting for that part to pay off properly.

Yeah, things do move a bit too fast at times, but I really do like how sprawling the plot of Season 2 has been. There are a lot of moving parts in Season 2, and there is a lot of politics, which I really appreciate. The writing is a lot more interesting than Season 1. Season 1 was more entertaining purely on the comedy factor, but Season 2 has much better writing for the main story; that’s for sure.
