Bocchi the Rock Season 2 confirmed!

Article at a glance:
- Bocchi the Rock! Season 2 Confirmed – Announced at the Kessoku Band Tour “We will B”, with new staff changes including Yusuke Yamamoto as director.
- Expected Release Timeline – Likely early 2026, though Fall 2025 is possible but unlikely due to animation production timelines.
- Excitement & Relatability – The show’s humor and social anxiety themes make it highly relatable, and anticipation for the sequel is strong.

Man, I can’t believe that Bocchi the Rock Season 2 wasn’t greenlit yet. I could’ve sworn that Season 2 was already announced back when Season 1 concluded. This seems like such an obvious sequel to greenlight instantly, right? Well, I shouldn’t say that. We still don’t have a sequel for No Game No Life or 86. Yeah, I don’t know what is up with these random decisions at times. We could live without Genric Isekai Slop for a few seasons if that means getting sequels for shows that deserve them lol.
But regardless, here we are. Better late than never, I suppose. Season 2 of Bocchi the Rock has been officially confirmed and there are quite a few things to discuss. So let’s get right into it!

What do we know about Bocchi the Rock Season 2?
The Kessoku Band Tour “We will B” confirmed that a sequel for Bocchi the Rock has been greenlit. The main staff for Season 2 were also revealed. Episode director, Yusuke Yamamoto will be replacing Keiichiro Saito as the director at CloverWorks and Erika Yoshida will be returning to pen the script. Keimon Oda will be joining Kerorira as the character designer. Oda also made the illustration you see here to commemorate the Season 2 announcement. I am pretty sure all the main cast will return as well but no confirmation on that yet.

And yeah, that covers all the news for now. I’m sure we will get more details soon enough. For now, let’s move on to
My Thoughts and Speculations
To start off, I really doubt that Season 2 will be scheduled for this year. They made the announcement now and if the anime was really greenlit recently behind the scenes, I think we should expect it to see in early 2026. I’m not saying that it is impossible to get Bocchi Season 2 later in the year like in the Fall 2025 season, I am just setting reasonable expectations. I’d be genuinely surprised if the anime is locked in for Fall 2025. Animation takes time after all. But I’m curious, let me know if you guys agree with this speculation.
Aside from that, I just went over how much liking I’ve taken to the band drama genre in the previous article. And of course, Bocchi is among the best of the genre. It is nowhere as serious and heavy as some of the other shows in the genre like Sound Euphonium or Your Lie in April but Bocchi is very good at what it does. And as someone who has social anxiety as well, I find this show relatable on a spiritual level even if my anxiety is nowhere near as extreme as Bocchi’s lol. So I really look forward to Season 2.
That is all for now
Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I am very excited about Bocchi Season, whenever it comes out. I don’t plan on leaving this job anytime soon so expect me to cover Bocchi Season 2 as well lol. With that said, I will take my leave here. Off to play some Kingdom Come Deliverance 2! See ya!
