As I said, this guy is known for his work on the movie Ongaku: Our Sound. Now, the movie was not made by a studio. It was his work alone. I kid you not, Kenji Iwaisawa was the Director, Sound Director, Scriptwriter, Storyboard writer, Editor, Art Director, Animation Director, and Character Designer of the movie. Yeah, that is absolutely insane.

The movie itself was based on an old manga of the same name by Oohashi Hiroyuki. Seriously, go watch Ongaku right now, it is hard to believe that most of it is just one man’s work. Yes, it took him 7 years to make this movie but his talent and dedication are commendable.

What do we know about Kenji Iwaisawa’s new work?

The new movie is called Hina is Beautiful. This time around, yes, he does have a proper staff with him this time around. Iwaisawa will of course be directing the movie. Takamasa Ooe is writing the script and Naoyuki Asano is the animation director and character designer for this movie. We don’t have a lot of info just yet but I do expect to see more updates on this soon.

Hina is Beautiful will be apparently made using retro animation techniques and as such, it has a very old-school animation look.
