Crunchyroll - MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES TV Anime Smashes Out April 2023 Premiere

I just read about this anime after I finished my top 10 list for the spring anime. And man, this looks pretty entertaining concept-wise. Reading the plot of Mashle really got me interested in it and I think it could be pretty cool if executed well. So I decided to do an article to shout it out. It is coming out pretty soon too, so well will know exactly how good it is in a few weeks.

So welcome back to another edition of Put This on Your Radar, the series where we discuss upcoming animes that caught our eyes. This once, we are talking about Mashle. A pretty interesting take on the magic fantasy formula and something I feel has some potential to be good. So let’s talk about it.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles anime reveals release date, new PV, and key visual at Jump Festa 2023

What do we know about Mashle?

The anime will be based on the manga of the same name by Koumoto Hajime. It has been serialized in the weekly Shonen Jump since January 2020. The series is set in a magic-dominated world but our MC is unable to use magic. As such he’s a threat to the gene pool and people think that he should be disposed of. So Mash enrolls in the Easton Magic Academy so that he could study and become the Divine Visionary, which would force everyone to accept him.

The anime will be made by A1 Pictures and it will be directed by Tomoya Tanaka. He has worked as an episode director for quite a few big animes like Naruto Shippuden, Hunter x Hunter (2011), etc. Kobayashi Chiaki will be starring as Mash. The anime is set to air on 8th April 2023; that is the spring season. You can check out the new PV right here.

What do I think?

Look man, Mashle looks pretty promising. I mean, my guy out here is beating people to a pulp with his fists in a world where people use magic for everything! That sounds so entertaining. It is like running an unarmed build in a Souls game or something. I don’t know what y’all think but that whole proposition to me sounds funny as hell.

Watching the PV, I have to say I quite like the art style of this anime too. Reminds me a little of Dr. Stone’s art style with all those sharp outlines and stuff. I really like it. It is A1 Pictures too and they have been on a winning streak recently so I hope they do a good job on this too. Again, it could end up being average or bad but, with a plot like this, I think the anime will be entertaining if the execution is decent.

Conclusion

So yeah, that does it for now. Let me know what you all think in the comments. I think Mahsle should be an entertaining watch if nothing else. Like, a guy beating wizards to a pulp with his fists is a weirdly funny prospect to me. With that said though, I will take my leave here. See ya!!
