Okay, I knew Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 8 was gonna be good but holy shit, that was insane! The ending scene of the episode left me speechless with my jaw dropped to the floor. Next week’s episode probably gonna be even crazier. But that wasn’t all. This week was filled with some amazing episodes. Another really cool episode from this week was Roze of the Recapture Episode 10. Shikanoko had an unhinged episode as well this week and Roshidere continues to be fun as always.

Kind of insane to think that we’re already 8 weeks or two months into the Summer 2024 season. Just another month to go till the meteor that is the Fall 2024 season descends on us. So you know, let’s enjoy and appreciate the summer season while it is here. But yeah, man, this was another crazy week filled with some amazing episodes.

So welcome back to another edition of Best Episodes of the Week! This is the 8th week of the Summer 2024 season and let’s talk about everything from Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 8 to Wistoria Episode 7.

Vtuber Legend Episode 8

So while on one side, the show had been going completely off the rails crazy in episodes 6 and 7, this week they decided to bless us with this gem. Yes, this episode had its crazy moments but overall, this was just a nice and sweet episode focusing on Awayuki and Mashiro. This episode shows us how they met and how they ended up becoming good friends soon enough. We also learn why Mashiro has so much adoration for Awayuki and it was a nice moment all around.

So you know, yuri-bait aside, this episode was just a nice, cute, and wholesome feel-good episode and I enjoyed it a lot. Curious to see what the next episode holds after being treated to something this unexpectedly wholesome in this anime…especially given how unhinged the previous two episodes were.

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan Episode 8

Say it with me boys, “Ware, Shika de aru”. You know the moment I saw that they were going to a place called Shikagami Shrine, I saw it coming, and yet, I was not ready for what I was about to witness lol. I love how everyone else just accepted the “deer god” Koshi-tan was the only normal person in the whole shrine lol. Believe it or not, the second half of the episode was somehow even more unhinged. Anko, Koshitan, and Nokotan play a board game in which the player avatars are… deers.

By the end of the game, Nokotan is literally Deer Jesus and Koshitan is a Deer Idol… I am not explaining that further. It was stupid, it made no sense but that’s what we watch this anime for, right? Peak brainrot.

Roshidere Episode 8

Man, this episode made me like Kuze even more. He always did things out of obligation and as soon as he didn’t have to fulfill the obligation, he lost his motivation to act. But through supporting Alya, he has found a new drive. And this time, it is out of his own volition not some obligation or sense of guilt. And my man clearly has a certain charisma. I also like how Alya shows a willingness to learn from him. Taniyama came in with some interesting arguments but Kuze stepped up man. This episode did so much for his character.

And then, of course, Yuki continues to be the best character lol. She went through the trouble of sitting in the projector room just so that she could give a “bad guy” speech after the debate was over. At least she is committed to the “role” lol.

Roze of the Recapture Episode 10

Ok, I have my issues with Roze of the Recapture overall but I cannot deny that this episode was a bager. The last episode had a lot of cameos from the original series and this episode was just an extension of it. We get to see everyone try their best to fight back against the weird machines Norland let loose on the world. We even got to see the Lancelot in action again even though it was very brief. The reveal of Norland’s true identity was quite well done as well. I have mixed feelings about his identity but it was a well-done twist.

It will be interesting to see how things play out in the remaining two episodes because the machines Norland unleashed are brutal. And I wonder how many more of the old characters we will get to see in action.

Wistoria Episode 7

And we finally got the long-awaited duel between Will and Julius. Julius finally got his comeuppance for talking all that trash, And it was satisfying. Bro was acting all high and mighty because he managed to pull off a spell created by Elfie. Well, turns out Elfie made that spell when was 2 years old lol and he couldn’t even use the “perfect” version of that spell. It was really funny seeing Elfie all flustered after Will revealed that Elfie used to use that spell to pick on him lol, they grew up in the same orphanage and all.

Will didn’t win the Crown Game itself but hey, Julius ate sand that is good enough for all of us. Satisfying episode and we got an amazing fight out of it. Also, is it just me, or do the animators love Elfie? Every scene she is in so damn beautiful.

Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 8

Stand proud, Taiki Himekawa. You were strong.
~Aqua, probably

But yeah, this was a Kana-focused episode with Aqua and Taiki doing their best to bring her “true” self out with Adlibs. And I love the fact that Akane immediately started fangirling Kana in the middle of the damn play on seeing her acting lol. So yeah, we had a Kana-focused episode till Aqua decided to go completely nuts during the last few moments of the episode. He feels guilty about having fun so he gives into his dark side and completely lets go. The moment I saw the star in his eye turn black, I knew it was over.

Those last few minutes of this episode were so immaculate. Episode 8 is among my favorite episodes of Oshi no Ko Season 2 purely because of how good those last few minutes were. It was a crazy episode and now I am very curious to see what awaits us in the next episode. Because the state Aqua is in right now, he does not care about anyone else, he just wants to devour everyone else’s acting.

Boys will do anything but go to therapy, huh?

That is all for now!

So yeah, those were my favorite episodes from this week. Let me know yours in the comments. I hope you had a good week and wish you another great week ahead of you as well. I’ve had a minor tinnitus problem for a few days lol, I’ll go to see the doctor tomorrow. Anyway though, for now, I need sleep. So, see ya!
