Tower of God Season 2 Episode 8 Was…

Article at a glance:

  • Tower of God Season 2 has episodes that range from excellent to lackluster, with pacing feeling more erratic than Season 1.
  • Despite slightly weaker animation than the first season, the art style remains consistent, and the new opening and ending themes are well-received.
  • The introduction of Emily and new characters shows potential, but some episodes fail to connect well with the plot developments, causing a disjointed viewing experience.

I know I am slightly late with my mid-season review for Tower of God Season 2, I usually do these around episode 6 but it is already episode 8. But you know, better late than never. Truth be told, I am still trying to figure out how to feel about Season 2 as a whole. It has its moments, don’t get me wrong. Certain episodes from Season 2 have been bangers. But I don’t know… something feels “missing”.

This feeling was quite present in episode 8. Episode 7 was great, I enjoyed it a lot but episode 8 somehow felt a little off and I can’t quite put my finger on why. o yeah, welcome to another one of my mid-season reviews, and today we are talking about Tower of God Season 2, episode 8 in particular. So let’s get started.

What did I think of Tower of God Season 2 Episode 8?

Let me make this clear, I don’t think episode 8 was bad. Emily was a huge addition to the plot and I am positive that her introduction will have a big impact down the line. I think the reason it felt a little off was because it had little to nothing to do with the ending of episode 7. So I couldn’t really get into this episode. Again, I am not exactly sure why this happened. Cause as I said, I loved episode 7.

And that leads me to a bigger issue. The pacing of this season feels all over the place. Season 1 had its issues, yes but I don’t its pacing was this random. This is why certain episodes are complete bangers while some episodes just feel meh. But you know, the good episodes are really good. The special exam mini-arc we got after Ban’s reintroduction as Viole was great. It had a lot of good moments and some nice plot twists. After that, last week’s episode was good. But the other episodes just don’t stand out as much and sometimes throw me off like episode 8 did this week.

The animations are slightly worse than Season 1 but they’re not bad by any means. The art style itself is relatively consistent so that’s a good thing. I like the new opening and ending themes too, they’re quite good and their animations are well done as well. But yeah man, other than the pacing being one major drawback, I can’t really think of another issue with Season 2. The new characters introduced have been pretty good as well in general

That is all for now

So yeah, as I said, I can’t quite make up my mind about Tower of God Season 2. Sometimes it has awesome episodes but then other times the pacing just throws me off. I don’t know, maybe it is just me. Maybe I am exaggerating but that is how I feel. Let me know what you guys think in the comments. I will take my leave here. I will probably need to binge-watch both seasons back to back before I do the review for Season 2. See ya!
