Oh brother, speaking of botched productions, Whisper Me A Love Song originally aired in April. Whisper Me A Love Song Episode 11 (and 12) should’ve aired in June, 5 months ago. The production of this anime was so botched that they ended up delaying the Blu-ray release by 4 months. And if you know, most animes make a huge chunk of their revenue, especially in Japan through Blu-ray sales. So delaying something like that by 4 months is a huge loss in revenue. And of course, the production issues also affected the show’s quality as you may expect.

But, more on all that later. Let’s get over all the news first. We finally have a confirmed release date for Episode 11 and Episode 12 of Whisper Me A Love Song and that does make me happy. So let’s get started.

Whisper Me A Love Song Episode 11 & 12 Release date

The official website of the Whisper Me A Love Song anime revealed on Friday that Episodes 11 & 12 will be airing on December 28th on TV Asahi and its affiliate networks. Both episodes will be aired back-to-back, of course. Along with that, the website also revealed a new visual for the “Cultural Festival-arc”. I can only hope the animation quality of the final two episodes is as good as the visual looks.

But yeah, that’s about it. Let’s move on to

My Thoughts

The situation of this anime makes me sad. I really enjoyed the first half of this show. The first 5 or 6 episodes are decent in quality and quite fun to watch. Though the anime never touches the animation quality of Episode 1, it was still fine. In the second half though, things start to fall apart. The art was always inconsistent, don’t get me wrong but it felt worse in the second half.

Izumi’s character just sucks in the anime. In the manga, her character has a lot more nuance which explains why she feels so strongly about Yori and Mizuguchi. But the anime skips a lot of her backstory, focusing only on the surface-level drama to… I guess make her feel more antagonistic? But it ends up just robbing her of everything that made her character complex and interesting in the manga.

But despite all that, I still look forward to seeing the final episodes of this anime. Yes, I know what’s coming but I still want to watch it and I hope that at least the animations are up to snuff after keeping us waiting for 6 months for these two episodes.
