Okay, bro, this season of Grand Blue has truly been wild so far. I don’t know why I even doubted this anime. Every single episode is so damn entertaining, certain moments are so funny that I legit gasp for air because of how much I am laughing. My mom has yelled at me multiple times for laughing too loudly because of this anime. I say this with no exaggeration: Grand Blue Season 2 might be my favorite Summer 2025 anime.
I am well aware that this is a very subjective take, which is why I used the word “favorite” lol. But in terms of sheer entertainment value, this anime is unbeatable. Welcome back to another article. Today, once again, we are talking about Grand Blue Season 2 and why it is my favorite Summer 2025 anime so far.
Why Grand Blue Season 2 is my favorite Summer 2025 anime?
Every single one of the episodes has slowly gotten more and more ridiculous than the previous one. I have already spoken about Episode 1, but damn, Kohei being jealous of Iori for having a little sister was so damn funny. He even made Shiori refer to him as “Kohei nii-sama”. Speaking of Shiori, her character arc was kind of cool, too. She came to the city with the intentions of dragging Iori back home to run the family business by any means necessary, only to see that he’s happy and decides to leave him alone.
Also, seeing Iori of all people act like a responsible older brother gives me such a tonal whiplash. I recently also learned that Iori and Nanaka’s Japanese voice actors are real-life, blood-related siblings. So THAT makes episode 3 pretty awkward in hindsight lol. Also, it is REALLY funny how Aina basically wants to marry Iori now that she has learned that his family runs a Ryoukan lmao. She spends the entirety of Episode 3 wilding out just to learn how Iori really feels about Chisa.
And all that somehow PALES in comparison to episode 4. But I refuse to spoil episode 4 since it dropped just today. You just have to watch it yourself. Poor Chisa was forced to interview 6 guys simply because they wanted to go to OWU on her ticket lol. So yeah, our insane dudes will be going to OMU for the first time in the next episode. I am sure it will go SPECTACULARLY well.
I struggle even to put a score on this anime lol. That’s because I can’t even critique a show like Grand Blue on my usual parameters. Yeah, I know that the plot is not the deepest thing ever, it’s just the enjoyment value is so off the charts that I can’t help but love this show lol.
